'Sexual Predator' Jailed for Raping Teenager
A rapist, from Exeter, who targeted a teenage
girl, plying her with drink before using her as a “sex toy”, was jailed for nine
years today.
Tyrun Davis, 31, was told by Judge Graham Cottle he was a “serious risk” to
girls of the age of his 15-year-old victim. The judge also imposed an extended
licence period of five years, telling Davis “you are at risk for 14 years”.
Davis was sentenced at Exeter Crown Court, having been convicted earlier of
rape, attempted rape, assault by penetration and sexual activity with a child.
Prosecutor Martin Edmonds said today that the 15-year-old victim could be heard
screaming as the police beat down the door to come to her aid.
Davis convicted in February, was told by the judge today: “You targeted this
girl and plied her with alcohol while she was already seriously under the
influence of alcohol.”
After the trial, investigating officer Dc Paul Burrows said Davis used the girl
“like a sex toy”.
And Dc Mike Chalmers described Davis as a “sexual predator”.
The judge said Davis had previous convictions for kidnapping a young girl, and
indecently assaulting a child who was “little more than a baby”.
