Authorities move to commit St. Cloud man as sexual
predator
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) _ A St. Cloud man who told
authorities he has committed almost four-thousand sex offenses against as many
as 39 victims will remain in custody while prosecutors try to commit him
indefinitely as a sexual predator.
Twenty-five-year-old Bradley Stephen Boone was to have been released on
Wednesday. But Stearns County District Judge Skipper Pearson signed an order to
hold Boone until a commitment hearing in September.
By the time Boone was 17, he had been convicted three times of sexually abusing
children. He was sentenced in 2000 to seven years and two months in prison after
he repeatedly failed to comply with court-ordered terms designed to get him
treatment and keep him out of prison.
The petition seeking to commit Boone says he has admitted he began abusing
others when he was seven years old.
